About
My name is Veronica Stanley, and I am a licensed certified social worker-clinical that has been practicing as a mental health therapist since 2009. Since I can remember, I have always had the desire to help others solve problems that interfered with their ability to live a peaceful and productive life. I believe that all people can tap into their inner strength to be the person and live the life in which they truly desire.
Population Served
I specialize in providing mental health services to individuals that are dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and anger issues, substance use disorder, addictions, social injustice, weight loss issues, as well as women concerns. My focus is also geared towards reintegration after incarceration, and or military discharge, active-duty service members and military veteran issues.
Therapeutic Approaches
I utilize an eclectic of approaches to address my clients’ unique needs such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, brief therapy, solution focused therapy, psychoeducation, mindfulness, self-compassion, anger management, behavioral therapy, bibliotherapy, client centered therapy, compassion therapy, grief therapy, narrative therapy and more.
In addition, research supports the practice of self-compassion and mindfulness in psychotherapy. Neuroscience research shows individuals that practice these self-compassion and mindfulness are happier, more resilient, and better equipped to heal painful memories from the past. It is my pleasure as well as my mission to assist my clients with overcoming obstacles in their life that prevent them from reaching their full potential in life.
