Trelease loves spending time with her husband, her 2 children, and their dog. She has always had the God – given talent to listen and give great advice. She is a veteran of the United States Army and has over 26 years’ experience working in the Health Administration field. She began her counseling career over 12 years ago when she left the military and began working with soldiers who were getting discharged from the Army. I found that I particularly loved to be that listening ear for those soldiers and their families who were dealing with mental illnesses and being discharged.
Trelease holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Master of Science in Health Administration/Informatics, and a Master of Science, in Professional Counseling. Trelease currently works in private practice where she works with the Employee Assistance Programs and provides individual counseling to children, adults, couples, families, LGBTQIA community, and seniors. Trelease is licensed in the State of Maryland.
She uses a few different treatment approaches and interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), Person Centered, and Solution Focused Brief (SFBT). She uses a non-authoritative approach, which allows you to take more of a lead in your sessions. Doing this leads you to working out solutions on your own without realizing it. She is compassionate and listens without judgement in a safe environment. Trelease will guide and assist you through the process of finding your happiness wherever it may be..
“You have to think of yourself as valuable enough to deserve what you want.” – Trelease Hartfield
