My name is Barbra Martin-Klinikowski and I reside in Southern Maryland with my husband and 3 beautiful daughters. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and my graduate degree from Grand Canyon University in Mental Health and Wellness with an emphasis on Grief and Bereavement. I have been an Addictions Counselor for the last 16 years and participate in all types of counseling. I have 35 years of medical experience working in detention centers, doctor’s offices, and in the emergency department. I have also been a volunteer EMT for the last 18 years and am an active member of the Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad.
One of my greatest accomplishments is becoming a Certified Professional Hypnotist. Hypnosis is a beautiful method of working with the subconscious for what a person wants more or less of in their life. I specialize in utilizing hypnosis for weight loss, smoking cessation, insomnia, anxiety, depression, PTSD, addictions, just to name a few, but hypnosis is really self-hypnosis so it can be used on almost any behavior. When using hypnosis, I work with the subconscious based on everything the patient identifies as something needed to change and what interventions the patient is willing to do to replace or increase. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) are just a few of the therapies used during hypnosis.
